A total of 82 teams are involved in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League season. Most of them participated in the league qualifiers, and 36 will ultimately play in the main tournament. UEFA Champions League 2025-26 Season Schedule and Format

During the draw ceremony, the teams learned about their upcoming matches. Since last season, the league no longer has a group stage, in which teams played each other twice.

As in previous years, teams will play eight games in the regular season – four at home and four away. Each team will play all eight teams once.

Although the teams will only play against eight other clubs, all 36 teams will compete in a single tournament table. At the end of the eighth stage, the teams that occupy the top eight places will immediately advance to the round of 16. The season will be over for the teams that occupy places 25–36.

The teams ranked 9th to 24th will play in the play-ins. The teams will meet in two matches, one at home and one away. The teams that win the play-ins will join the teams ranked 1st to 8th in the regular season.

The first round will take place from September 16 to 18, and the eighth round will be played on January 28. The play-ins will begin in a few weeks.
